Shaniya Simmons

Shaniya Simmons is an actress and singer from Sumter, South Carolina. Currently, she is a senior Theatre Performance major at Winthrop University. During her time there, she has been cast in a number of productions, with her most recent endeavors including FOR COLORED GIRLS WHO HAVE CONSIDERED SUICIDE WHEN THE RAINBOW IZ ENUF (Lady in Brown), Winthrop’s first musical revue HEAR OUR VOICE (Ensemble), and THE COURAGE TO RIGHT A WOMAN’S WRONGS (Leonor). Shaniya has also participated in the Winthrop University Collegiate Choir and Chorale. She is excited to share the training she has gained from these experiences with the audiences at Actors Theatre of Charlotte for the first time and plans to continue performing and pursuing arts leadership opportunities in the future.
